Hatha yoga
(Sanskrit = violent union — from hath, force, violence, to treat with violence)

A system of poses (asanas) incorporating breath control (pranayama) that forms part of Hindu religious philosophy. It is the precursor of all postural yoga.

Krishnamacharya is credited with the modern revival of Hatha Yoga.
