pro-drop parameter
Definition - (Aka null subject parameter)

The Chomskyan parameter that divides languages into:

(1) pro-drop languages: languages that allow the sentence's subject to be left out (e.g. Italian Sono di Torino, am from Turin), and

(2) non-pro-drop languages: languages that usually don't allow the subject to be left out (e.g. English: "I'm from Turin and I speak Italian.")
