He published the first calculations
of global warming based on
human CO2 emissions.
(1859 – 1927) A Swedish scientist who did the first quantitative estimate of climate sensitivity. He initially predicted that if CO2 doubled, the earth would warm by 5°C to 6°C.
In 2007 the IPCC estimated that this value is more likely to be between 2°C and 4.5°C.
