Definition: (Aka. PFCs) Synthetic industrial-gas by-products of aluminum smelting and uranium enrichment.

1. They have atmospheric lifetimes of thousands to tens of thousands of years. In Addtion, their 100-year GWPs can be thousands of times that of CO2, depending on the gas.

2. They are one of the six greenhouse gases targeted by the Kyoto Protocol.
