The Dictionary of the Climate Debate (DCD)

Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change
Definition: (Aka NIPCC) An organization that super-skeptic Fred Singer founded to be a non-governmental version of the IPCC. It describes itself as an international coalition of scientists providing an independent (i.e., private sector) examination of the evidence for AGW.

Notes:
1. To further this aim, the NIPCC published a report called Nature, Not Human Activity, Rules the Climate, which was published in March 2008 by the Heartland Institute. Click here to read it.

2. ABC News reported that unnamed climate scientists from NASA, Stanford, and Princeton who spoke to them about the report dismissed it as "fabricated nonsense." In a letter of complaint to ABC News, Singer said their piece used "prejudicial language, distorted facts, libelous insinuations, and anonymous smears." Click here to read the letter.
