The Dictionary of the Climate Debate (DCD)

diurnal temperature range
Definition: (Aka DTR and diurnal temperature variation) The difference between the daily maximum and minimum temperature for a particular place. For example, the Snake River Plain can have a high temperature of 38°C during a summer day and a low of 10°C at night, thus the diurnal temperature range is 28°C.
