The Dictionary of the Climate Debate (DCD)

CO2 concentration
Definition: A concentration is the amount of a substance in a given volume, thus CO2 concentration is a measure of the percentage of the atmosphere that is composed of CO2 (e.g., 380 ppm).

Notes:
1. Don't get this confused CO2 emissions. Concentration is the amount that is in the atmosphere; emissions are what is emitted, and this doesn't necessarily stay in the atmosphere.
