The Dictionary of the Climate Debate (DCD)

burning embers diagram
Definition: A diagram of climate risks that was a central image of the IPCC TAR, but because it provoked controversy was omitted from AR4.

According the Stephen Schneider, it was omitted because the colors it used were deemed too subjective by the American, Chinese, Russian, and Saudi Arabian IPCC delegations. In its place, the AR4 substituted written descriptions of risk, which were deemed less incendiary.
