The Dictionary of the Climate Debate (DCD)

biosequestration
Definition: Carbon sequestration that is caused by biological processes, e.g., the formation of limestone.

Notes:
1. Geoengineering techniques, such as ocean iron fertilization, can also be used to encourage it.

2. The Azolla Event is a major historical example of large-scale biosequestration.
